Do I need a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan as a European citizen?
No, the vast majority of European countries are exempt from a visa.
How do I get a tourist visa?
At the airport upon arrival. It’s an extremely simple process that is done when you exit the airport.
Flights and Domestic Transport
Are international flights included in the package?
No, 4droad does not cover international flights.
Do we travel by van, private bus or 4x4 during the excursions?
Transport methods vary, but whenever possible we prioritize comfort and exclusivity.
Is airport transfer included?
It will depend on the package you select, but in the vast majority of options it is included.
Accommodation
What kind of accommodation is planned?
Accommodation is varied and may include hotels, guesthouses and yurts, depending on where the group is staying.
Is there an option for a single room?
Sometimes, but you should keep in mind that it will affect the final price.
Does the accommodation have a private or shared bathroom?
It depends, but whenever possible we prioritize comfort and exclusivity.
Guides and Activities
Do the guides speak English/Spanish or other European languages?
We work with English-speaking guides, as they are nomads who have recently agreed to help us discover their country.
Will there be hikes or trekking? What is the difficulty level?
The level of difficulty for both trekking and horseback rides will be specified in the tour description.
Are entrance fees to national parks, museums or activities included in the price?
Yes, all visits are included, but if there are any additional optional activities, they would not be included in the price.
Health and Safety
Which vaccines are recommended before traveling?
There are no mandatory vaccines. It is an alpine country, so diseases are rare.
Does the agency include travel insurance or do I need to purchase it separately?
Travel insurance is not included, but we can recommend providers.
Is it safe to travel around Kyrgyzstan in a group?
Yes, thanks to their steppe culture, Kyrgyz people are extremely hospitable.
Weather and Packing
What clothes should I bring depending on the season?
It depends on the time of year you decide to embark on this adventure. Once you choose your dates and tour, we’ll give you all the necessary recommendations.
How much should my backpack weigh?
To stay comfortable on the trail, your backpack should not exceed 10–15 kg. We recommend packing only essentials and prioritizing light, versatile gear. If you’re unsure what to bring, we can share a simple packing list to help you stay within that range.
Money and Extra Expenses
What is the local currency and how do I exchange money?
The local currency is the Kyrgyz som. In the capital, Bishkek, you’ll find many exchange offices, so we do not recommend changing money at the airport as rates are usually worse.
Which expenses are not included in the package (tips, optional activities)?

Are credit cards accepted in hotels and restaurants?
Only in some places in the capital, which is why we always recommend carrying some cash.
